Position: Communications Intern

The Communications Intern will work as part of a small team on external communications activities that support BSA’s policy goals, corporate positioning and reputation. The intern will develop knowledge of BSA, its member companies, and the association’s high-priority issues, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, workforce development, trade, and data policy. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in public policy communications.

Position: Internet Investigator
Location: Washington, DC

The Internet Investigator will provide BSA with in-house, technical capability to investigate unauthorized electronic distribution of software and other forms of online copyright infringement. They will work as part of a small team to assist with the investigation of, and enforcement efforts against, unauthorized electronic distribution of software.

Position: Accounting Intern
Location: Washington, DC

The Accounting Intern assists the accounting department in general accounting duties which involve BSA’s worldwide operations. This includes use of the financial systems in the accumulation, consolidation, reporting, analysis and reconciliation of accounting transactions. The Accounting Intern will learn to handle accounts payable and revenue transactions in a variety of foreign currencies, general ledger account research, internal audit activities, payroll and cash reconciliations monthly and annual financial reporting. The Accounting Intern will also assist with internal audit testing and ad hoc accounting projects and other duties and tasks as directed.

Candidates must be able to work twenty (20) hours per week during the school terms and summer and year-end holiday break, and will require a flexible, coordinated schedule. There may be an opportunity, from time-to-time, to work additional hours up to forty (40) hours per week during the summer and year-end holiday break.

Position: Data Analyst (Temp)
Location: Washington, DC

The Data Analyst (Temp) will support data analytics and reporting efforts at BSA. This includes extraction, transformation, integration and loading of data into data systems, as well as the use of reporting tools to respond to ongoing requests for data from senior management. The Data Analyst (Temp) will also collaborate on projects such as the operation and updating of BSA’s Data Warehouse, comparing and de-duplicating data-sets, automating reports using SQL Server, and generating reports using reporting visualization tools (such as Microsoft’s Power BI tool).
