Information technology has changed the world in which we live. It has made us more efficient, more productive and more creative. It has also proven to be a remarkable engine for global economic growth. The sector employs more than nine million people and contributes significantly to global economic prosperity. Software has been at the heart of this technology revolution. Software facilitates the dissemination of knowledge, drives global communication and promotes continued innovation. Software piracy currently prevents this sector from reaching its full potential. The global software piracy rate is currently 35% and the value is $33 billion.

By reporting piracy you are helping to overcome the challenges that could prevent the realisation of the full promise of the information economy. Your efforts to help stamp out software piracy will help fuel the global economy and employment.
