Reporting Process

The fight against software piracy begins with you. Your report lays the foundation for the BSA anti-piracy efforts and is vital to BSA’s ability to fight piracy.

BSA has been conducting piracy investigations for many years, and over this time we have identified the information that is most important to our efforts. The BSA knows your time is valuable, so we have limited our questions to only those that are necessary.

Since BSA’s efforts revolve around your report, the more information you provide us the better equipped we will be moving forward with an in-depth investigation. We ask that you provide us with as much information as possible about the piracy you are reporting. Your help makes BSA more effective.

What Is Needed to File a Report

  2. Information about what software is being pirated, including installation numbers and number of licenses.
  3. The reasons you believe that the organization is pirating software.
  4. A little bit of your time.
