BSA Welcomes Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill, Inclusion of H-1B Provisions

WASHINGTON, DC — April 17, 2013

BSA | The Software Alliance today applauded introduction of comprehensive, bipartisan immigration reform legislation in the US Senate that includes a much-needed overhaul of the H1B visa program for high-skilled workers.

“I commend the group of eight senators who have worked across the aisle to shape comprehensive immigration reform legislation,” said BSA President and CEO Robert Holleyman. “The careful work that has gone into this bill’s introduction should lay the groundwork for broad bipartisan consensus. BSA is encouraged that there are provisions to expand the visa program for high-skilled workers who can help America’s tech sector maintain its position of global leadership. We look forward to working with lawmakers and other stakeholders as the legislative process moves forward.”
