BSA Strongly Supports Efforts to Pass Meaningful Trade Secrets Legislation

WASHINGTON — January 16, 2014 —

BSA | The Software Alliance today expressed strong support for efforts to pass meaningful legislation to protect trade secrets and applauded Sens. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Chris Coons (D-Del.), and Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) for their efforts in this regard.

“Foreign misappropriation of American trade secrets is a serious and growing threat to America’s innovation economy and must be addressed,” said BSA Director of Government Relations Tim Molino. “BSA supports legislation to fill gaps in current law and empower American innovators to defend their valuable trade secrets. We thank Sens. Hatch, Coons, and Flake for their leadership on this important issue and look forward to working with them to move a bipartisan solution through Congress.”
