BSA Applauds Lee Nomination to Head US Patent and Trademark Office

WASHINGTON, DC — October 16, 2014 —

BSA | The Software Alliance today welcomed President Obama’s nomination of Michelle Lee to serve as Under Secretary for Intellectual Property and Director of the US Patent and Trademark Office.

“With her wealth of experience in government and the private sector, Michelle Lee is a great choice to head the PTO,” said BSA President and CEO Victoria Espinel. “She has been providing strong leadership in her Deputy Director role since January, and we look forward to working with her as she presses forward with the Administration’s important efforts to improve Patent Office operations so we have the right incentives for continued discovery and innovation in software and other fields.”
