The Manager, Legal Operations is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing efficient workflows for BSA’s legal function and its programs focused on end-user copyright enforcement. Primary responsibilities include ensuring the end-user enforcement programs’ operations throughout the world are operating at maximum efficiency while remaining aligned to the strategic interests of BSA member companies; managing the day-to-day execution of the programs’ operating plans; and other duties as assigned from time to time by BSA’s Assistant General Counsel and other internal clients.
Professional Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 4 to 6 years of legal operations experience in law firm, government agency, or in-house law department
- Paralegal or legal operations certification preferred
- Experience working with information technology and copyright issues is highly favored
- Ability to analyze data in order to establish and track annual budgets, operating plans and report metrics
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, stay organized, follow-up / meet deadlines and drives projects to completion
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse professionals at all levels of seniority, both inside and outside the organization
- Ideal candidate is detail-oriented, results-focused, and capable of inspiring trust and confidence
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing enforcement program structure; devise, implement, and optimize process and enhancements
- Collaborate with other BSA team members to ensure program and processes are operating efficiently
- Support Legal Department’s management of compliance with anti-corruption, privacy, and other internal policies
- Maintain and monitor intellectual property assets including global portfolio of trademarks
- Support process for reporting on the status of adverse litigation
- Monitor external mailboxes and coordinate responses to external inquiries (e.g., privacy compliance, enforcement intake)
- Streamline, organize and maintain system for legal contracts and Powers of Attorney
- Manage reporting on key enforcement metrics, including revenue and expenses, for both for BSA management and member companies
- Report to and communicate with member companies on specific matters and issues
- Other legal operations duties as assigned
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $105,000. This does not reflect total compensation which includes base salary, benefits and quarterly performance achievement bonuses.
