BSA Praises PCLOB Confirmations Ahead of Annual Privacy Shield Review

WASHINGTON – October 12, 2018 – BSA | The Software Alliance welcomes the Senate confirmation of three nominees to the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board (PCLOB) – Adam Klein as the Chair, along with Edward Felton and Jane Nitze. These confirmations ensure the PCLOB will be functional ahead of the US-EU Privacy Shield review next week. The Privacy Shield framework is essential to transatlantic digital trade and ensuring that data can flow between the United States and the European Union. BSA looks forward to working with the Senate to confirm the remaining two PCLOB nominees.
