BSA Welcomes Reintroduction of AI in Government Act
WASHINGTON – May 9, 2019 – BSA | The Software Alliance applauds reintroduction of the AI in Government Act by Sens. Schatz, Gardner, Harris, and Portman, and Reps. McNerney and Meadows. The bill would help improve the federal government’s acquisition and use of artificial intelligence (AI). Among other provisions, the bill creates an AI Center of Excellence, which would provide technical expertise and facilitate coordination among federal agencies to develop innovative uses of AI by the government. The bill helps to continue US leadership in the development and deployment of AI. BSA looks forward to working with the bill’s sponsors and Congress to pass this legislation.
