Privacy bill a boost for U.S. cloud providers

“People overseas don’t understand the constitutional and legal protections we have in place, but they do know the Patriot Act, and when they hear that, they envision Uncle Sam opening up their email box and rifling through willy nilly,” said Chris Hopfensperger, technology policy counsel for the Business Software Alliance. “The substance of what people are really worried about are embodied in these changes to ECPA.”
