Industry looks to shape fed's move to cloud

The cloud computing industry will get its first shot Wednesday to push back against the White House’s new security checklist for FedRAMP during a briefing that will feature several of the administration’s top cloud gurus.

IT vendors by and large are still digesting baseline security controls released last week that cloud providers will have to meet to satisfy FedRAMP requirements — a hurdle that, once cleared, will give companies an edge in the competition for billions of dollars in contracts as federal agencies increasingly migrate systems to the cloud...
