Keep Pressing for Patent Reform, BSA Urges

WASHINGTON, DC — May 21, 2014 —

BSA | The Software Alliance today issued the following statement regarding patent reform legislation in the US Senate.

“We appreciate that Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee have worked hard to try to produce a strong package of reforms. This is unfinished business, so we need to keep pressing forward,” said BSA President and CEO Victoria Espinel. “Litigation abuses are harming the US patent system and acting as a drag on the economy. We need reforms that make life harder for bad actors and better for innovators. We look forward to continuing to work with Congress and other stakeholders to pass effective legislation.”
