Craig Albright Joins BSA as Vice President for Legislative Strategy; CEO Victoria Espinel Continues Building Leadership Team

WASHINGTON — March 6, 2014

BSA | The Software Alliance today announced the appointment of Craig Albright as Vice President, Legislative Strategy. Starting today, he will drive development and implementation of BSA’s engagement with the US Congress.

Albright is the second senior hire by BSA President and CEO Victoria Espinel following the recent addition of Ha Nguyen as Chief of Staff.

“We are very pleased to have Craig join our team,” said Espinel. “His extensive experience at the World Bank, the White House, and in Congress will be a great asset for our members and our industry as we advocate for policies that enable technology innovation and drive growth in the digital economy.”

Albright spent nearly four years at the World Bank as a Special Representative. In that role, he advised World Bank presidents Robert Zoellick and Jim Yong Kim on engagement, crisis management and overall strategy, while working closely with domestic and foreign governments, think tanks and private sector organizations.

Prior to the World Bank, Albright served in the White House as Deputy Assistant to Vice President Dick Cheney for Legislative Affairs and then Special Assistant to President W. Bush for Legislative Affairs. Before and after his service in the Administration, Albright was Legislative Director and then Chief of Staff to Rep. Joe Knollenberg (R-Mich.), and later served as Chief of Staff to Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas).
