WASHINGTON — April 29, 2015 —
BSA | The Software Alliance lauded the introduction of comprehensive legislation in the U.S. Senate to address abusive patent litigation while maintaining incentives to innovate.
“This legislation makes clear that addressing the problem of frivolous patent litigation is a bipartisan priority,” said BSA President and CEO Victoria Espinel. “As the world’s leading innovators, our members want a healthy, functioning patent system, one devoid of abusive patent lawsuits. I applaud the efforts of Chairman Grassley, Ranking Member Leahy and Senators Cornyn, Schumer, Hatch, Klobuchar, and Lee to introduce truly bipartisan legislation that fundamentally improves our patent system, and encourage the Senate to move this legislation forward quickly.”
