WASHINGTON — April 30, 2015 —
BSA | The Software Alliance today applauded the House Judiciary Committee’s bipartisan approval of the USA FREEDOM ACT, legislation to reform the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) by making important changes to government surveillance practices.
“I applaud Chairman Goodlatte, Ranking Member Conyers, Rep. Sensenbrenner, Rep. Nadler, and their colleagues on the Committee for their action on the USA FREEDOM ACT. Ending bulk data collection and increasing transparency in the public and private sectors is an important step toward restoring trust in the US government and US technology industry,” said BSA President and CEO Victoria Espinel. “We encourage the full House and Senate to take swift action on this legislation ahead of the Memorial Day recess.”
