BSA Statement on Kaspersky Lab

Organization shares security company’s concerns over SOPA

Brussels, Belgium – December 5, 2011 –

BSA today issued the following statement from Katherine McGuire, Vice President of Government Relations:

"We are very disappointed to learn that Kaspersky Labs may not renew their membership in BSA, especially given we share many of their concerns over SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act). Kaspersky has been a valued member of BSA over the past two years, and we look forward to working with them again in the future."

BSA detailed its concerns over SOPA – introduced in the US House of Representatives in October – in a blog post on November 21, and continues to work to address them.
