Politico, March 12, 2020. The Cyberspace Solarium Commission’s final report won near-universal acclaim on Wednesday, although there was enough skepticism or uncertainty in some quarters to suggest the commission’s fight isn’t finished. Industry groups including the US Chamber of Commerce, BSA | The Software Alliance and the Banking Policy Institute greeted the report warmly. More than a dozen technology and business trade groupings from the US, Europe and Japan have jointly asked a parliamentary panel examining the draft personal data protection (PDP) bill to protect the “privacy of Indian citizens” and “remove barriers” to the growth of the country’s economy.
