BSA | The Software Alliance Welcomes Two New Members

WASHINGTON – July 26, 2018 – BSA | The Software Alliance today announced the addition of two new global members – Cadence and PTC. PTC was previously a regional member with BSA.

“We’re excited to welcome Cadence and PTC,” said Victoria Espinel, President & CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance. “As artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cross-border data flows continue to benefit every industry in every economy around the world, governments should adopt responsible policies that allow emerging technologies to thrive. Cadence and PTC’s global expertise will help us shape these discussions and contribute to the success of the digital economy.”

  • Cadence develops software, hardware, and IP for electronic systems and semiconductor companies that develop products—from chips, to boards to systems— in mobile, consumer, cloud datacenter, automotive, aerospace, IoT, industrial and other market segments. Founded in 1988, Cadence is headquartered in San Jose, CA with 50 offices around the world. Jim Cowie, Cadence’s Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary, will join BSA’s Board of Directors.
  • PTC provides computer-aided design software (CAD), product lifecycle management software (PLM), Internet of Things, and augmented reality platforms and solutions to help companies design, manufacture, operate, and provide service to their customers. PTC was founded in 1985, is headquartered outside of Boston, MA, has offices in over 30 countries, and serves approximately 28,000 customers with their digital transformation efforts.
