BSA Voices Support for Technology in Criminal Justice Act

WASHINGTON – November 22, 2019 – BSA | The Software Alliance commends today’s introduction of the Technology in Criminal Justice Act. “This announcement represents a much-needed step towards bridging the gap between law enforcement and technology companies,” said Brandon Consolvo, Director, Legislative Strategy at BSA. “The Technology in Criminal Justice Act would empower law enforcement agencies with the training and resources they need to access and utilize digital evidence in appropriate circumstances. BSA is committed to collaborating with policymakers and law enforcement to ensure access to data without compromising civil liberties or the security of the technology. BSA thanks Representatives Val Demings, Conor Lamb, Brian Babin, and John Rutherford for introducing the bill and looks forward to working with Congress to pass this vital legislation.”
