BSA Welcomes Transformation of NIST AI Safety Institute to Center for AI Standards and Innovation

“The Business Software Alliance welcomes the transformation of the US Al Safety Institute into the Center for Al Standards and Innovation,” BSA senior vice president of global policy Aaron Cooper said in a June 3 statement.
“CAISI can create needed clarity and consistency in the United States' approach to Al testing, and help to ensure that innovators have the tools they need to develop Al and harness its benefits,” Cooper said.
“Importantly,” Cooper said, “the new agency builds on the NIST’s deep expertise, and establishing CAISI as the main industry contact within the US government for Al testing and research encourages focused collaboration.”
