BSA Welcomes Nomination of Vishal Amin as Intellectual Property Czar
WASHINGTON – April 10, 2017 – BSA | The Software Alliance welcomes Vishal Amin’s nomination to be the next US Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC) in the Executive Office of the President.
“I want to extend a warm congratulation to Vishal Amin on his nomination. The IPEC’s office plays a vital part in protecting innovations that drive the American economy,” said Victoria Espinel, President and CEO of BSA | The Software Alliance, who served as the country’s first IP Enforcement Coordinator before joining BSA. “I understand the unique challenges and rewarding opportunities that the coordinator faces, and Vishal Amin is an outstanding choice to tackle those head on.”
Amin has been a champion of patent issues in both his current position as Senior Counsel for House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) and with Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) before that. Following Senate confirmation, BSA looks forward to working with him in his new role.
