BSA welcomes the European Commission’s initiative to strengthen the EU data economy through the European Data Union Strategy. We support the European Commission’s objectives to promote secure, responsible, and innovation-friendly data sharing, enhance international data flows, and reduce administrative burdens.
In this submission, BSA encourages the European Commission to focus on 3 key pillars:
1. Boosting EU competitiveness through smarter data policies to scale-up data use and availability.
2. Advancing strategic autonomy through international cooperation, not protectionism.
3. Simplifying the EU data regulatory landscape to accelerate innovation.
