BSA filed comments with Australia's Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts on the exposure draft of the Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026 (Bill). BSA recommended that the Bill expressly exclude entities acting in their capacity as providers of business-to-business services, limit "persons responsible" to those in a position to exercise day-to-day control of the service and extend the transition period so that businesses can adjust their compliance frameworks.
