Propriedade Intelectual

As proteções à propriedade intelectual (PI) incentivam a pesquisa e o desenvolvimento (P&D) que impulsionam a inovação. O software responde por 19,6% de toda a P&D de empresas nacionais nos Estados Unidos. Estruturas adequadas de proteção de IP são essenciais para manter esse investimento. A BSA apoia:

  • proteção de patentes para todas as invenções em uma base tecnologicamente neutra,
  • leis de direitos autorais que protegem os direitos dos autores, intermediários e usuários de obras na era digital,
  • proteções para segredos comerciais, e
  • reforma significativa em litígios de patentes que reduz o litígio oportunista e permite que aqueles que inventam e inovam prosperem.
