Data and technology are playing a crucial role in the fight against COVID-19. We commend the Committee for focusing on the important role that data can and should play in the current health crisis, and for convening a paper hearing that addresses the important privacy and security considerations that attend those uses. Our companies have long recognized that data must be used in ways that respect individual privacy and promote security. We appreciate the Committee’s leadership on these issues, including through developing comprehensive federal privacy legislation. We believe that a strong, comprehensive federal privacy law can further promote private and secure uses of data, both in connection with the COVID-19 response and more broadly. Continuar leyendo
