BSA SVP US Government Relations Craig Albright Urges California Senate to Reject AB 1018

The Business Software Alliance, a tech trade group, is renewing calls for California lawmakers to reject AB 1018, arguing it will subject many industries and routine AI tools to a “complex and unworkable regulatory regime,” according to Craig Albright, the group’s senior vice president of U.S. government relations. “AB 1018 risks stalling innovation and standing as a barrier to widespread and responsible adoption of AI by businesses in every industry,” he added in an Aug. 29 press release.
