Bloomberg BNA, June 29, 2017
By Rossella Brevetti
Aaron Cooper, BSA vice president for global policy, said the BSA threw its support behind the TPP in part because of the advances it made related to cross-border data flows and data localization. “Those issues have become more and more important,” Cooper said. The BSA is calling on USTR to tighten up the language so that it is harder for countries to create exceptions to the free movement of data across borders and the prohibition of forced data localization, he said.
