Key U.S. data flows experts. . . [testify in] a blockbuster hearing on the U.S.-EU Privacy Shield data flows agreement, which was chucked out by the EU’s top court this summer because of fears over U.S. surveillance practices.
The line-up: Noah Phillips from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission; the U.S. government’s key data flows negotiator James Sullivan; Facebook’s main witness in the case that led to the Privacy Shield’s nixing, Peter Swire; software industry lobbyist Victoria Espinel; and Neil Richards, who was a witness for the Irish Data Protection Commission in the Privacy Shield case.
