The Business Software Alliance (BSA) Senior Vice President of US Government Relations Craig Albright issued the following statement on the passage of HR 1:

"The Business Software Alliance applauds members of Congress for including restoration of full and immediate deductibility of research and development expenses as part of HR 1. 

The R&D provisions in HR 1 strengthen US competitiveness and promotes innovation in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and other breakthrough technologies. It helps keep the US the most attractive place to invest in innovation. 

Enterprise software companies make some of the most significant R&D investments of any US industry, and we commend lawmakers for ensuring that the R&D tax credit supports companies’ continued investments in the tools and talent that power every sector of the economy."
