The Business Software Alliance sent a letter to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem to share concerns and recommendations surrounding CISA’s role in the second Trump administration.
BSA — a global trade association that represents AI, cybersecurity and other tech industry leaders — told Noem in its letter that the organization has “a long commitment to improving security” in the digital landscape for companies. BSA called CISA a “valuable resource to support industry” in monitoring and responding to cyber threats. But the group expressed concerns surrounding CISA’s development of “guidance of limited value” and the pressure the private sector is facing to adhere to that guidance.
“CISA could have avoided these outcomes had it meaningfully engaged with industry cybersecurity experts or focused on its operational cybersecurity mission,” BSA CEO Victoria Espinel wrote in the letter.
