BSA | The Software Alliance Welcomes Australia's First Cybersecurity Minister Dan Tehan
SYDNEY— July 25, 2016 —
BSA | The Software Alliance (BSA) welcomes the appointment of Australia’s first ever Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on Cyber Security.
Cybersecurity is an increasingly urgent issue for governments around the world. In the Asia-Pacific Cybersecurity Dashboard, BSA urges markets throughout the region to develop comprehensive national cybersecurity strategies and ensure that there are operational entities with the authority to implement them. The appointment of a cabinet-level minister focused on cybersecurity is an important step in this direction and a strong indicator of Australia’s commitment to prioritizing cybersecurity.
BSA looks forward to working with Minister Tehan on collaborative efforts to enhance Australia’s cybersecurity capabilities.
