BSA Applauds Marti, Lee Confirmations
WASHINGTON — March 9, 2015 —
BSA | The Software Alliance today praised the confirmation of Daniel Marti as the next US Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator (IPEC) and Michelle Lee to serve as Under Secretary for Intellectual Property and Director of the US Patent and Trademark Office.
“I want to congratulate Daniel Marti on his confirmation as US Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator. The IPEC’s office plays a critical role in fostering and continuing American innovation by ensuring that the US government is taking the right steps to protect intellectual property,” said BSA President and CEO Victoria Espinel, who served as the country’s first Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator prior to joining BSA. “My experience serving as IPEC was incredibly rewarding and I wish the same for Daniel Marti as he begins this new role.”
Espinel said, “I applaud Michelle Lee’s confirmation today and believe her wealth of experience and strong leadership skills will be an asset to the Patent and Trademark Office. We look forward to working with her as she continues to strengthen our nation’s patent system.”
