Privacy on the Hill
This Does Not Compute, July 6, 2020
Hosted by Jim Lewis
BSA's Aaron Cooper joins Jim Lewis of CSIS for an episode of the podcast This Does Not Compute. They discuss how the debate around digital privacy is evolving in the US, how Congress is thinking about the issue, and the impact COVID-19 is having.
From Aaron Cooper, Vice President of Global Policy: "It's important that privacy rules, as they are established around the world, are consistent enough to be interoperable, but are specific to the interests of each different location...As people are using technology more, we as a population are recognizing how important it is to ensure that our data is protected. The value that data brings to companies, governments, and individual citizens is huge. And it will only be valuable if we can protect privacy along with it."
