In 2024, a total of seven states passed comprehensive state privacy laws. In total, BSA monitored 59 comprehensive state privacy bills introduced across 25 states during the 2024 state legislative session. Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Rhode Island became the newest states to enact comprehensive state privacy laws. As of this year, there are a total of 20 states with comprehensive state privacy laws.
