BSA Welcomes Reintroduction of Dream Act
WASHINGTON – February 4, 2021 – BSA | The Software Alliance commends Chairman Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Ranking Member Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for reintroducing the Dream Act, which would provide DREAMers with a pathway to citizenship and make Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) protections permanent.
“BSA strongly supports DREAMers and believes they deserve certainty regarding their ability to live and work in the United States. Immigrants, including DREAMers, make America strong, resilient, and innovative; and they are an important part of our society and economic recovery,” said Aaron Cooper, Vice President, Global Policy at BSA | The Software Alliance. “Responsible immigration policies, such as those that permanently protect DACA recipients, are key to promote innovation and economic growth in the US. We welcome this important step forward and encourage Congress to move swiftly to pass the Dream Act into law.”
