BSA Releases ICT Supply Chain Security White Paper
WASHINGTON – February 16, 2021 – BSA | The Software Alliance today released “Building a More Effective Strategy for ICT Supply Chain Security,” a white paper calling on the Administration and Congress to shift US supply chain security policy to an assurance-based approach, coordinated across government agencies with a strategic focus.
“In recent years, supply chain security policy has all too often been reactive and overly broad, in ways that ultimately do not advance security and impede economic growth. As the SolarWinds intrusion demonstrated, there are significant threats to ICT supply chains. The new Administration and Congress now have an important opportunity to create and implement a modern approach to supply chain security,” said Aaron Cooper, Vice President, Global Policy at BSA | The Software Alliance. “In our new white paper, BSA calls on the US government to focus on assurance efforts, strengthen US leadership, activate public-private partnerships, and recalibrate current policies to mitigate supply chain risks. We stand ready to partner with policymakers to drive trust and security throughout global ICT supply chains.”
