BSA: Post-Quantum Encryption Standards Help Secure Digital Future
BSA | The Software Alliance Senior Director, Policy Henry Young, issued the following statement regarding the US Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) first three finalized post-quantum encryption standards:
"BSA commends NIST for publishing new post-quantum cryptographic standards to help secure our quantum future. Quantum computing will deliver tremendous value for businesses and the public, but we need to take action now to account for its security implications. NIST’s forward-looking work helps to anticipate the digital security needs of the future.
Post-quantum cryptography is an essential area of focus for enterprise software companies, which is why BSA recently outlined six recommended actions government can take to secure information. Policymakers around the world can build upon NIST’s work by developing national PQC strategies, assessing government agencies’ quantum readiness, and launching a Quantum Security Institute that can work in tandem with stakeholders around the world."
