BSA and its members welcome the European Commission’s ambition to strengthen Europe’s cloud and AI ecosystem, investment, and infrastructure through the Cloud and AI Development Act (CADA). We support the EU’s goal to build economic resilience, foster homegrown European technology companies and scale a competitive domestic digital industrial base. We also believe that the proposal’s focus on research, development and innovation, and autonomy can help Europe expand sustainable data center capacity, accelerate cloud and AI adoption in strategic sectors, and support the objectives of the AI Continent Action Plan.
