Consistent with the objectives of America's AI Action Plan, and building on the success of the prior administrations of Donald Trump and Shinzo Abe in negotiating the US-Japan Digital Trade Agreement, the Trump and Takaichi administrations’ technology agreement should reinforce US and Japanese leadership in secure AI and quantum computing development and deployment; encourage interoperable risk-based technology governance approaches; and promote economic growth.
