Position: Internet Investigator

The Internet Investigator will provide BSA with in-house, technical capability to investigate unauthorized electronic distribution of software and other forms of online copyright infringement. They will work as part of a small team to assist with the investigation of, and enforcement efforts against, unauthorized electronic distribution of software.

Position: Policy Intern

The Policy Intern will work to support BSA’s policy goals, focusing primarily on digital trade and market access issues, as well as other policy priorities as appropriate. The intern will conduct legal and factual research to support BSA’s global advocacy efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience at a leading Washington, DC trade association and to work in a dynamic, fast-paced sector. The Policy Intern will report to the Director, Policy, and will work closely with the Policy Associate and entire BSA Policy team.

Candidates must be able to work 10-20 hours per week during the from mid-May to mid-August 2019.

Position: Senior Manager/Director, Legislative Strategy
Location: Washington, DC

BSA is currently seeking an experienced government relations professional to drive legislative efforts for the organization. The individual will represent BSA and its member companies before the U.S. Congress and with federal agencies. The ideal candidate has experience and working relationships with Members of Congress, their staffs and relevant federal agencies, is extremely organized, detail oriented and analytical. A strong understanding of the software industry and a history working in some or all of BSA’s key issue areas – data privacy and security, international data flows, intellectual property, international trade, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, workforce issues – is a plus. This position will report to the Vice President, Legislative Strategy and work closely with the Director, Legislative Strategy and the BSA policy team to develop government relations strategies and implement plans to advance BSA’s global advocacy agenda.

Position: Senior Manager, Policy – EMEA (Consultant)

BSA is currently seeking to retain the services of an experienced policy expert with a policy background in software or data issues, such as privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property. This is a contract position that will work closely with the BSA team to help develop strategies and implement plans to advance BSA’s advocacy agenda in Europe on behalf of BSA members.
