Virtual Event: CyFy 2021 Panel - From Dark Patterns to Light Patterns

October 19-22, 2021

Speaker: Venkatesh Krishnamoorthy, Country Manager — India, BSA | The Software Alliance

How people are able to interface with technologies follows certain pre-determined pathways: nudges, immediate rewards for certain behaviours, patterns in the UI, all shape the choices we make. “Dark patterns” mislead users into behaving in ways they would not otherwise have, usually serving interests other than their own. However, can these patterns be leveraged to shape socially positive outcomes that empower users? How can socially conscious design be made a part of every stage of development and design?

BSA's Venkatesh Krishnamoorthy joins CyFy2021 for a panel discussion on "From Dark Patterns to Light Patterns: Responsible Technology Design".
