Virtual Event: European Cyber Agora – European Perspectives on the Protection of the Health Care Sector From Cyber Attacks
June 2, 2021
Speaker: Thomas Boué, Director General, EMEA Policy, BSA | The Software Alliance
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought the importance of healthcare sharply into focus. It has also demonstrated that healthcare and medical facilities around the world are vulnerable to a new threat – that from malicious actors online.
BSA’s Thomas Boué moderates a multistakeholder discussion at the European Cyber Agora, exploring the opportunities and challenges for an EU framework for healthcare cybersecurity guidelines. This workshop forms one of a series of webinars focused on protecting critical infrastructure and will investigate what threats hospitals and medical practitioners face, discuss what policies and practices exist at the European level to increase the resilience of online systems, and discuss what Europe can do to protect this precious area internationally.
Speakers include:
- Eva Telecka, Director, IT Security & Risk Management EMEA, MSD
- Staša Novak, Cyber Attaché to EU and NATO, Permanent Representation of the Republic of Slovenia in Brussels
- Kuba Boratynski, Head of Unit, Cybersecurity and Digital Privacy Policy, Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, European Commission
