BSA Calls for California to Treat Cybersecurity Audits Under Existing Standards

Industry sticking point: Kate Goodloe, managing director of policy for the BSA, said the revisions didn’t go far enough; for example, some companies would still have to file California-specific cybersecurity audits. She argued the audits are costly and duplicative because many companies already test their tech to ensure it meets security standards.
“We're asking the agency to … treat those audits under existing standards as compliant with California's requirements, without creating a separate and fragmented set of obligations,” Goodloe told Decoded.
