At least one of those groups, the Business Software Alliance, is begging lawmakers to throw a wrench in Bauer-Kahan’s plans after already launching an advertising campaign against it. Craig Albright, senior vice president of U.S. government relations for the Business Software Alliance, on Friday urged California to “reverse course” on the measure, referencing claims that the bill may be costly to enforce and could extend to everyday business software. (Bauer-Kahan has refuted these arguments.)
