BSA Comments on Federal AI and Cybersecurity Harmonization Efforts

“There is a lot of opportunity for the administration to clarify and harmonize rules to both improve cybersecurity and foster AI adoption. This EO and its counterpart order creating an AI Action Plan can promote AI adoption by setting clear, harmonized, national standards that both promote innovative solutions and give industries in all sectors the confidence to adopt cutting-edge technologies,” the Business Software Alliance spokesperson said. 

“Harmonizing cybersecurity rules can also make sure regulations are consistent and clear across government, and that those rules map to recognized standards and guidance. Streamlining and rationalizing regulations to make them workable in practice will help companies develop and use cutting-edge technologies that secure critical information and improve services," according to the spokesperson.
