BSA Criticizes CA AB 1018 for Overreach and Unnecessary Developer Burdens

Bauer-Kahan “has been open to receiving and listening to concerns; we just haven’t seen an effort to address them,” Craig Albright, the alliance’s senior vice president of government relations, said in an interview. The alliance’s members include companies such as Adobe Inc. and OpenAI Inc. Albright also contends the bill would unfairly capture mundane uses of automated software, such as route recommendations on a map app, and that developers would unfairly be liable for other companies’ uses.
