BSA Discusses Engagement on California AB 1018

Industry reps have met with Bauer-Kahan’s office to share their concerns, said Craig Albright, senior VP of U.S. government relations for the Business Software Alliance. And while Bauer-Kahan did pare back parts of her bill last month, businesses feel the final language still imposes regulations that are too broad and could upend their supply chains. 

“We’ve been able to [negotiate] in other places. We’ve engaged with bill authors in other states,” Albright said. “But we haven’t been able to have that kind of engagement on this bill.”
