This is the right approach. "Rather than regulating the underlying models, this acknowledges that risks emerge across the AI value chain," says Thomas Boué, director general of EMEA policy at the BSA, the leading advocacy group for the global software industry. "When a company licenses an AI model from a provider, for example, they use their own data to refine it, which can introduce bias. This is what the act is targeting."
