BSA Issues Statement on Latest Draft of APRA
Inside AI Policy
By Charlie Mitchell
BSA | The Software Alliance’s Craig Albright in a statement expressed support for Rodgers and Pallone’s efforts but raised significant concerns.
“Enterprise software companies have for years called for a new national comprehensive privacy law in the United States that ensures the use of personal data is consistent with consumers’ expectations and gives certainty to businesses,” Albright said.
“These leaders are doing the necessary hard work to achieve this outcome and we commend them for their efforts,” he said.
“BSA appreciates the many significant and important improvements made to comprehensive privacy legislation since it was first proposed last Congress, particularly those modifications that clearly distinguish between controllers and processors of data, and which tailor obligations that reflect their different roles in protecting privacy,” according to Albright.
