BSA Policy Director Joseph Whitlock Comments on WTO AI Rules
Inside U.S. Trade
By Oliver Ward
Joseph Whitlock, director of policy at BSA | The Software Alliance, a trade association representing the technology industry, told Inside U.S. Trade in an email that the WTO should “maintain momentum on trade-related digital governance through its existing workstreams.”
“At the same time, it is important to avoid overlap with ongoing AI governance workstreams in other organizations,” Whitlock added, “and to leave some room for agile international AI policy development among smaller groupings.”
